Become a Jacob’s Well Natural Area Volunteer

Educating the community about water resources may be the single most effective tool we have to save the spring. Come join us in our mission to insure clean, clear and flowing water.

To become a Jacob’s Well Natural Area Volunteer, you will need to take 2 days of training, offered on consecutive Saturdays twice a year. We ask for a commitment of 24 hours a year. Presenters are well-known environmentalists, scientists, and environmental educators. You will come away inspired!

Current volunteering opportunities include education for school-aged children, public tours, booth participation at local festivals, trail and prairie restoration, newsletter and communications, and event coordination.

For those in the Master Naturalist Program, our training is approved as MN Advanced Training, and for regular volunteer hours. All Master Naturalist hours can be credited to the MN program.

If you wish to simply do habitat restoration with the Restoration Rangers, you may volunteer without taking the training (although it is recommended)..
